            CLEMSON, S.C. -- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Anneli Uys and Chris Berry earned all-conference honors with runner-up finishes in the Southern Conference indoor track and field meet Friday at Clemson University. Uys was second in the women's mile run in 4:52.83 and fifth at 2:16.86 in the 800 after setting a personal record with the top qualifying time Thursday, 2:13.12. Also Thursday, UTC's Mary Cumbee, Haley Horsch, Shelley Taylor and Uys earned all-conference honors with a second-place 11:31.29 in the distance medley relay in 11:31.29. Berry, the men's 5,000-meter winner in 2009, was second at 14:30.20 with teammate Emmanuel Kirwa fourth in 14:40.93 this time. The winner was Baylor graduate Cameron Bean of Samford, 1.08 second ahead of Berry. Bryan, one of four teams sharing first place in the regular season, received the AAC men's Champion of Character award. Bryan's Anna Thomas and Wesleyan's Lindsey Jackson were second-team All-AAC women's choices, and Bryan's Amber Smith and Jessica Southern made the third team. TWC's Matt Pandora Beads Wholesale Harper and E'Jay Ward and Bryan's Tyler Clark were voted to the men's all-freshmen team, and Ward and Bryan's Xavarien McCall made the all-defensive team.
